Product Usage

Calcium and silicon both have a strong affinity with oxygen. In addition, calcium also has a strong affinity with sulfur and nitrogen, which makes silicocalcium an ideal complex deoxidant and desulfurizer. Silicocalcium boasts a strong deoxidizing capacity and its deoxidized products are easy to float upward and discharge. It can also improve the performance of steel by increasing its plasticity, impact toughness and fluidity. Siliconcalcium can perform final deoxidation instead of aluminum and has been applied as deoxidizer in the production of high-grade steel, special steel including rail steel, low-carbon steel and stainless steel, as well as special alloys such as nickel-based alloy and titanium-based alloy. It can also be used as a warming agent in converter steel making, inoculant of cast iron, and additive in the production of nodular cast iron.
